At MLA Updates in Adelaide, Sheep Producers Australia CEO Bonnie Skinner shared her perspective on what a productive, profitable sheep enterprise may look like by 2030.

Sheep Producers Australia attended the National Farmers’ Federation’s AgXchange 2025 on the Gold Coast, which brought together hundreds of producers, industry leaders, and policymakers to explore the future of Australian agriculture.

Sustainability isn’t just about carbon offsets, biodiversity credits or planting trees - those projects are important, but they’re not where it starts. 

Australia’s sheep industry received a significant boost with the announcement of $2m in Federal Government support for LambEx 2026, the world’s largest and most influential sheep industry conference.

LambEx, the world’s biggest sheep, lamb and wool forum, today released the program for its 2024 event in Adelaide, South Australia, on 7-9 August. LambEx chair and South Australian sheep producer Jason Schulz said the LambEx 2024 program is big.

Sheep and lamb producers across Australia are rejoicing and raising lamb chops in salute as the pinnacle in Australian sheep and lamb – LambEx - makes a much-anticipated return on the national agricultural calendar.

Members of the GSPF include the American Lamb Board, Beef + Lamb New Zealand, British National Sheep Association, Canadian Sheep Federation, National Sheep Association, National Wool Growers’ Association of South Africa, and Sheep Producers Australia (SPA).
