Two young people involved in the Australian sheep industry have a unique opportunity to participate in the Next Generation Program - Global Sheep Forum scheduled to take place online in and in Adelaide, South Australia from 5 – 10 July 2026.
By participating in the Next Generation Program, participants will meet like-minded sheep producers from around the world, gain a broader in depth understanding of the global sheep industry, and support Sheep Producers Australia's engagement with international partners.
The Global Sheep Forum is a collaborative initiative aimed at fostering sustainable practices in the global sheep industry. The program brings together young sheep farmers from New Zealand, United States of America, United Kingdom, Australia and Canada offering a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration and skill development.
Next Generation Program – Global Sheep Forum
2026 LambEx, Adelaide and Online Leadership Program
All participants will first take part in a series of online leadership masterclasses, designed to build foundational skills in communication, advocacy, collaboration, values-based leadership and global awareness.
Program participants will then form international project groups made up of members from partner countries. Each group will select a key area of sheep production to explore, collaborate online throughout the program, and present their collective insights virtually to the Global Sheep Forum following the in-person Australian visit.
As part of this opportunity, all international participants will meet face to face in South Australia in July, undertaking a program of on-farm visits, supply chain tours and industry engagements before attending LambEx 2026 in Adelaide.
The time commitment will include:
-
March–June 2026: Online leadership masterclasses (scheduled to suit all time zones)
-
March–September 2026: International project group work and virtual meetings, with presentations finalised by September
-
