Green Sheep Project LambEx Ag adviser briefing

It might have looked like an informal discussion over morning tea at LambEx, but the conversations could help shape the next phase of the Green Sheep Project.

Industry advisers from across the sheep sector came together to discuss the design of the Green Sheep Project's upcoming train-the-trainer program. The project is exploring how advisers can better support producers to understand, demonstrate and communicate the sustainability, natural capital and credentials already embedded in their farming businesses.

As trusted advisers working alongside producers every day, agronomists, consultants, extension officers and other industry professionals are well placed to understand where producers need support, what information is most valuable and how these conversations happen on farm.

Their feedback will help ensure the training is practical, relevant and grounded in the realities of Australian sheep businesses.

The Green Sheep Project is a national, three-year initiative led by Sheep Producers Australia and supported by four regional delivery partners. The project is helping producers better understand and communicate their sustainability performance by developing practical tools, training and resources focused on natural capital.

The Green Sheep Project is supported by the Australian Government through the Climate-Smart Agriculture Program under the Natural Heritage Trust.
