US Trade Visit

Sheep Producers Australia recently supported the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry with hosting a US trade delegation.

The delegation included US bipartisan Congressional trade advisors and in addition to meetings in Canberra, the group visited Tasmanian livestock producers Will and Ed Bowden, “Cluny”, Bothwell, Tasmania.

Fifth generation mixed farmers, with their operation including 22,000 ewes, Will and Ed provided an invaluable snapshot of Australian primary production.

Sheep Producers Australia CEO Bonnie Skinner said the Bowden family were generous with their time and support of the delegation.

“I’d really like to thank the Bowden family for providing a great insight into Australian farming,” she said.

Delegations like this play an important role in fostering understanding of Australian production systems first-hand and the values that underpin our industry.”
