Sheep Producers Australia was pleased to host UK National Sheep Association Chair and Devon sheep farmer Peter Delbridge and his wife Carol during their recent visit to Australia.

Their itinerary included the Australian Sheep and Wool Show, farm visits in the Bendigo and Ballarat regions, and the Bendigo Sheep and Lamb Market. Discussions covered topics such as electronic identification and the importance of traceability, drought management, mulesing, and livestock transport.
SPA thanks sheep producers Leigh Chibnall and Therese Ryan as well as Frank Roberts from Nutrien for his wool insights, Heytesbury Stockfeeds’ Gavin Davies and Lili Ravelo for sharing information about nutrition during drought and hosting farm tours, as well as the many stock agents and truck drivers who shared their perspectives at Bendigo.

Chief Executive Bonnie Skinner said maintaining strong relationships with other sheep-producing nations is essential for fostering collaboration and building mutual understanding across the global industry.
“The UK is an important part of the Global Sheep Producers Forum, and an evolving trade customer,” she said. “It’s always a privilege to spend time with farmers from across the world and be reminded about how many challenges and opportunities we have in common as a global industry.”
