Sheep Producers Australia Chair Andrew Spencer has indicated he will not be seeking reappointment as a board appointed director at November’s Annual General Meeting and will therefore also be stepping down from the Chair’s role.

Andrew has been the Independent Chair of the Board for the past three years helping to guide Sheep Producers Australia through a challenging period, but one with many achievements.

Andrew came to the position of Chair in 2021 with extensive experience as a senior executive and company director within Australia’s agriculture sector. He was a long-term Chief Executive Officer of Australian Pork Limited while also serving as a director for the Australian Farm Institute, the Red Meat Advisory Council, and the Grains Research and Development Corporation among others.

As Chair, Andrew has led Sheep Producers Australia through a very difficult period in the industry and his calm and professional contribution will be missed.

A new Chair of Sheep Producers Australia will be appointed at November’s AGM.
