Sheep Producers Australia recruiting for two Board Director positions

18 Aug 2022

Sheep Producers Australia (SPA) is the peak national industry body for the Australian sheep meat industry. Based in Canberra, our purpose is to be a strategic leader working to benefit Australia’s sheep industry to achieve a productive, profitable, and sustainable future.

SPA’s vision is to be a trusted influencer, leader and advisor for Australian sheep producers, industry, and government. SPA is governed by a skills-based board, comprised of a minimum of four and maximum of seven non-executive Member elected Directors and up to two Board appointed Independent Directors.

SPA seeks to appoint two non-executive Member elected Directors at SPA’s Annual General Meeting in November 2022. The two vacancies have arisen due to the completion of the current terms of two non-executive Member elected Directors, both of whom are eligible to stand for re-election.

“SPA’s role is to represent and promote the interests of Australian sheep producers by providing national sheep industry leadership, policy, and advocacy. The SPA Board values diversity of thinking and skills that encompass a broad range of high-level knowledge and experience.”

Working with the Policy Council, SPA CEO and team, Directors have the opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of the national sheep industry whilst providing the governance oversight required for the organisation to perform its essential role.

“Directors of SPA play a vital role in ensuring the organisation is professional and efficient, capable of retaining the trust of all stakeholders. I would encourage suitably experienced and qualified individuals, who are passionate about the red meat industry and want to make a difference, to apply for a Director position.”

Applications close 11.59pm Sunday 21 August 2022 AEST
